New Wine-New Light

Something transformative is happening right now in the Body of Christ. It seems to me that we’ve lost our way in the production-oriented, fast-paced, consumer-based model of Christianity. Instead of Christ being the center of the room, preference has taken center stage. It doesn’t always mean that it happened intentionally, but it does indicate that, somewhere along the way, we started to approach the sacred casually. Anytime you approach the sacred casually, it causes the heart to move from identity to duplicity.

The shaking of the system is necessary if we want to inherit true transformation. We must also avoid the temptation of seeing years as wasted, so we can acknowledge what needs to be redeemed and what needs to be abandoned. I believe we are in an invitation to a narrow gate that demands a metanoia (change the way we think) until we see the blooms of all things new. This would mean an immediate shift from focusing on what we’ve built and recognizing what we are growing. Our lens of Christ moves us from conquest to communion. Our common union carries with it a deep “yes” that is automatically a loud “no” to so many inferior things. This “yes” into the one thing has within it a pulse and a frequency that announces we have found home. The knowledge of the glory rises in the hearts of sons and daughters until it’s as waters covering the seas.

This transformation is causing us to leave a form to discover a frame. It’s not fragile—it’s enduring. We cannot afford to keep putting back together a powerless and generic form of Western Christianity. We must learn to yield to the plunge of a new frame for His new wine. This is why He will challenge our forms until it reveals the authentic fire of our intoxicated hearts. He is making it again—another. He is preparing a new skin for a new wine. You are a part of it all, as He is making all new again. He is beginning to robe you in a new light.

New Wine! New Light!
